About this policy
This policy explains how personal information is handled when you use Books&Moods at davstrains.com. For privacy questions or requests, contact info@davstrains.com.
Information we use
Depending on how you use the service, we may process your email address, display name, account status, email-verification status, reading progress, bookmarks, membership and purchase records, and limited technical information such as IP address and browser information used for security, fraud prevention and rate limiting.
Passwords and payment information
Passwords are stored as secure password hashes rather than readable passwords. Card and payment-method details are handled by Stripe. Books&Moods stores the identifiers and payment or subscription status needed to provide access, but does not store your full card number.
Why we use personal information
We use personal information to create and secure accounts, verify email addresses, remember reading activity, provide content you are entitled to access, manage subscriptions and purchases, send essential account or transaction messages, prevent abuse, diagnose service problems and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Service providers
We use service providers where needed to operate Books&Moods, including hosting, email delivery and payment processing. Stripe processes payment information under its own privacy terms. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Retention
Account and reading information is retained while needed to provide the service. Transaction and subscription records may be retained for accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute and legal purposes. Security logs are retained only for as long as reasonably needed for operational and security purposes.
Your rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain uses of your personal information, and to receive a copy of information you have provided. You may contact us at info@davstrains.com to make a request. If UK data-protection law applies, you may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Cookies
For information about cookies and similar storage used by the site, see our Cookie Policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service, our providers or applicable requirements change. The latest version will be published on this page with its update date.
